For the second weekend in a row, Pembina Highway will be closed between Stafford Street and Jubilee Avenue.
The road will be closed in both directions at 8:00 pm on Friday, December 14 and will remain closed until 4:00 am on Monday, December 17, 2018, so that crews can finish removing the old CN rail bridge that spanned the road.
The construction project is part of the Southwest Rapid Transitway Project.
Demolition will take place around the clock says the city.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be shuttled through the construction zone between pick-up/drop-off points located near Stafford Street on one end and Jubilee Avenue on the other.
During the closure, traffic will have to use alternate routes such as Osborne Street, Waverly Street or Kenaston Boulevard.
If last week is any indication traffic congestion on the alternate routes will significantly increase travel times.
