Rapid Transit construction will happen around the clock
Pembina Highway will be closed over the long weekend in both directions between Jubilee Avenue and Harrow Street.
Beginning Friday May 19, 2017 at 8:00 pm and continuing until 4:00 am on Tuesday May 23, 2017 crews will be working around the clock for construction of the Southwest Rapid Transitway and widening of Pembina Highway.
Only Transit and emergency vehicles will be able to drive through the construction zone all other traffic will have to detour.
If you are a pedestrian you will be able to get through the zone via a shuttle service that is being set up. Two stops, one on each end, will be set up as pickup and drop off points for the shuttle.
- north of the underpass on the east side of Pembina Highway opposite Harrow Street, and
- south of the underpass on the east side at the Jubilee Avenue yield onto Pembina Highway.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes like Osborne Street, Waverley Street or Kenaston Boulevard (Route 90)
