Peguis First Nation woman airlifted to Winnipeg after dog attack

A 52-year-old woman from Peguis First Nation is recovering in a Winnipeg hospital after she was attacked by a pack of dogs in her community.

RCMP say that at approximately 12:25 am on Sunday, May 7, 2023, the victim was walking in the community when the attack occurred. She suffered serious injuries in the attack and was airlifted to Winnipeg for medical treatment.

Peguis First Nation Chief and Council reported to the RCMP that the dogs thought to be responsible for the attack have been destroyed.

RCMP continue to investigate.
