Winnipeg Police had Sergeant Avenue closed for several hours Wednesday after a collision between a female pedestrian and a Simcoe Street. The woman had been crossing the street at the crosswalk in the late afternoon when she was struck.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital where she remains in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody but charges have yet to be laid.
Investigators are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at 204-986-7085.
