On August 8, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a distress call regarding an injured individual at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth Way and Mayfair Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male with severe injuries.
Emergency responders from the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured male to the hospital in critical condition. Tragically, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the male was crossing Queen Elizabeth Way when he fell. As he attempted to get up, he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
The Traffic Division’s Collision Investigation Section has taken over the investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information, including video or dash camera footage, to come forward.
