On May 15 a 22 year old transgender man got into a cab and was driven to a secluded spot in the 1100 block of Main Street where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.
He was eventually driven to his destination and reported the assault to police. The sex crimes unit began an investigation.
On May 24, after hearing of the investigation the driver allegedly showed up at the victims home and offered him money to stop the investigation. He declined and notified police of the encounter.
Police have arrested and charged Mohinder SARKARIA, 55 with Sexual Assault and Attempt to Obstruct Justice due to his alleged involvement.
Updated to reflect victims is a transgendered man not a woman as previously reported by police.
