Passenger dies after truck flips in field southwest of Bruxelles, MB

A 15-year-old male is dead after the vehicle he was a passenger in flipped in a field about five kilometres southwest of Bruxelles in the RM of Lorne.

Police say that they received a call about the collision just before 1:30 am Saturday, April 7, 2018.

RCMP investigators believe that the pickup truck had an 18-year-old driver, who survived the crash, and the 15-year-old who was declared dead at the scene.

The pair had been driving in a field off of Road 66 West when it flipped over.

Officers say the driver was wearing a seatbelt but the passenger was not.

Kyle Nolan Devos, from the RM of Lorne, has been charged for his alleged involvement with Impaired Driving Causing Death, Dangerous Driving Causing Death as well as several Highway Traffic Act charges.

He remains in custody and will appear in a Portage La Prairie court on Monday, April 9, 2018.

Police continue to investigate.
