Winnipeg Fire crews had a busy morning responding to incidents Wednesday.
Around 1am crews responded to and put out a fire in the 1100 block of Redwood Avenue. No injuries were reported. No estimate of damage.
An hour later, around 2am firefighters extinguished what appears to ba a deliberately set fire to the door of an apartment building in the 200 block of Young Street. The fire was quickly put out and damage was limited to the door. Arson is suspected. No injuries reported.
The 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue was the scene emergency crews went to around 3:30am. A person had to be rescued from the small home that was on fire. A 50 year old male was sent to hospital in critical condition but has now succumbed to his injuries.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
