OVERNIGHT ARSON HAS FIREFIGHTERS BRACING FOR A BUSY LONG WEEKEND IN THE NORTH END

Just before midnight onThursday June 29, 2017 fire crews were called to a fire in an abandoned bungalow on Prichard Avenue.

Someone had deliberately torched the building. Firefighters quickly put out the flames.

No one was injured  and the fire is under investigation.

In a posting on social media Friday morning Alex Forrest, President of Winnipeg’s fire fighters union, said that crews were bracing for a busy long weekend in the north end.

Over the past couple of weeks a number of suspicious fires have been set in the area including a fire set at the home of former MP Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
