Other duties as assigned, police lead horses to safety

Winnipeg Police became horse wranglers on Monday morning, June 16, 2020, after officers received a report of two horses wandering along Plessis Road near St. Boniface Road.

Officers were able to calm the animals and get ropes around their necks to lead them off the busy roadway.

Two officers who have experience with horses were able to lead them onto a nearby gravel road while other officers checked local stables for the owner.

Police were able to leave the horses with a nearby stable until their owner could be located.
