Clandestine methamphetamine lab found in a home on Foxmeadow Drive

Winnipeg Police Service Organized Crime Unit along with the Clandestine Lab Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit were on scene at a home in the 200 block of Foxmeadow Drive in Lindenwoods on Tuesday evening, May 2, 2023, into Wednesday conducting an investigation.

Winnipeg police say that around 2:00 pm officers had responded to the home for the report of a deceased male. Police located the 39-year-old man and a clandestine methamphetamine lab within the home. At the time of the discovery, the lab was inoperative. An autopsy has been ordered.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the scene with their Hazmat units and decontamination trailer. An ambulance was also on standby at the scene.

Officers donned disposable white protective suits, gloves and respirators before entering the home. A number of items were taken out of the house as the lab was dismantled.

According to officials a third-party waste management company safely transported and disposed of all the hazardous materials.

Police say that a 70-year-old female and a 37-year-old male who live in the home were asked to leave for their safety while the removal process was underway.

No other injuries were reported.
