Single-vehicle collision in Paint Lake Provincial Park takes the life of a 17-year-old male.
RCMP say that they were called to the provincial park around 3:20 am on Monday September 7, 2020, for the report of a collision in the park campground.
When officers arrived they found a vehicle had driven into the bush and hit a tree. The victim was located pinned under the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 17-year-old male driver of the vehicle from Thompson was found at the scene and arrested. He is facing charges of Impaired Driving Causing Death for his alleged involvement.
Breath samples taken at the detachment showed that the driver had twice the legal limit of blood alcohol concentration.
RCMP continue to investigate.
