Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a property minutes before 8:00 pm in the first 100 block of Pilgrim Avenue after receiving a report of a garage fire.
When firefighters arrived they found two garages in adjacent properties fully involved. Crews quickly knocked the flames down and prevented the fire from extending to nearby homes. The fires were declared under control at 8:36 pm.
One person was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital in unstable condition. No other injuries were reported.
Fire officials say that the cause of the fire appears to have been accidental.
