One person was sent to hospital from a fire on Hendon Avenue on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.
Firefighters were called to an eight-storey apartment building minutes before 5:00 pm. Crews attacked the fire from the outside until conditions improved and they could transition to an interior attack to put out hotspots.
Damage was mostly contained to the suite of origin. Once the fire was out crews ventilated the building to remove the smoke so that residents could re-occupy their suites.
Paramedics on-scene assessed five people with one of them being transported to hospital in stable condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
