Winnipeg Police are investigating an assault outside the Northern Hotel on Main Street that sent one person to hospital.

Police were called to the scene around 10:00 pm on Friday, May 27, 2022, and found the victim laying in pools of blood on the sidewalk suffering from stab wounds.
The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.
Officers cordoned off the area between the Northern Hotel and the Yale Hotel one block north. Large pools of blood could be seen on the sidewalk as a member of the Forensics Unit documented the scene and gathered evidence.
A police spokesperson told News 4 in an email that there have been no arrests at this time.
