One more case of COVID-19 identified, visitor restrictions to relax at healthcare facilities

Manitoba Public Health says that one new case of COVID-19 has been identified in the province on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases remains at 298.

The are no COVID-19 related patients in hospital in Manitoba.

There are currently nine active cases and 282 individuals who have recovered from COVID-19.

The total number of deaths related to the virus in the province remains at seven.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, 824 laboratory tests were performed bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 45,923.

The province announced that they will be relaxing the restrictions on visitor access to hospitals.

These changes will allow patients to see loved ones in person while measures remain in place to prevent the introduction and spread of COVID-19 in health facilities.

Most patients will be eligible to identify a single designated support person who may visit daily. Facilities will begin to implement the new procedures as early as Friday June 5, 2020.
