RCMP is investigating a fatal collision between a semi-tractor and a train on Provincial Road 44 East.
Police say that around 4:00 pm the received a report of the collision. When officers arrived a passenger in the semi was being extracted. The 46-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. The 16-year-old driver of the truck suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police say the the semi was travelling northbound on PR 44E when it stopped at a railroad crossing then proceeded through the intersection when it was hit by the train. The driver was receiving driver training at the time of the collision.
The investigation continues.
