One injured in Logan Avenue fire

Logan Avenue Fire

One person was injured in a machinery fire at a business in the 1900 block of Logan Avenue in Winnipeg just after 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Crews responding to the monitored alarm at the single-storey industrial structure launched an offensive fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 8:41 p.m.

Significant smoke in the structure had triggered the sprinkler system.  The one injured individual was treated at the scene and taken to hospital unstable condition. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damage estimates were available at the time of publication.

Barnes Street Fire

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service found smoke coming from a four-storey residential building under construction in the first 100 block of Barnes Street a little after 1:30 in the morning on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Crews were able to declare the fire under control within about half an hour following an offensive attack on the structure.

Firefighters searched the building, finding no occupants and no injuries were reported.

The fire is currently under investigation and damage estimates are not available at this time.
