One injured after stolen SUV collides with car on Broadway

Winnipeg Police are investigating a collision between a stolen SUV and a car that sent one person to the hospital on Saturday night.

The collision happened around 11:30 pm on Broadway at Langside Street. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot. Officers searched for the suspect with a K-9 unit but were unable to locate them.

The vehicle that was hit veered off the road onto the sidewalk and into the corner of a building.

A 17-year-old female from the car that was hit suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital.

A police patrol unit at the scene of the collision was noticed to be missing its emergency light bar. Torn wires lay across the roof of the vehicle. Police said that the patrol unit was not involved in the collision and no explanation was given on how the light bar was lost.

Police continue to investigate.
