RCMP are investigating a fatal collision on the Trans-Canada Highway that happened late Thursday afternoon, August 6, 2020.
Police say they were called to the area of Highway 1 and Springbrook Road near Austin Manitoba around 4:10 pm.
Investigators say that a westbound vehicle on Highway 1 was hit by a northbound vehicle on Springbrook Road as it entered the intersection.

The 55-year-old driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. His 83-year-old passenger suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. Both men were are from Decker, Manitoba.
The 47-year-old driver of the northbound vehicle from the RM of North Norfolk suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police say that alcohol was not a factor in the collision and seatbelts were in use at the time of the collision.
The investigation continues.
