Winnipeg emergency crews responded to a serious collision between two vehicles on Wednesday at Grant Ave. and Lilac Street. During the collision one of the vehicles, a Chevy Silverado, rolled over landing on the roof and pinning the driver.

Fire crews had to extricate the man before paramedics could take him to hospital. The 56 year old man was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries. The lone occupant of the other vehicle was not reported injured.

Winnipeg Police Traffic Unit had westbound Grant Avenue closed as they investigated the scene. Police would like to talk to anyone who may have seen the accident occur. If you have information about the incident call investigators at 204-986-7085
