One dead, one injured in two-vehicle collision Sunday

RCMP say one man is dead, another injured after a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway.

It happened late Sunday night, March 15, 2020 near Barren Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Police say a pickup truck was travelling westbound on Highway 1 when it crossed the centre line and collided with another pickup that was heading east.

The driver of the eastbound truck, a 29-year-old male from Kenora, Ontario died at the scene. The driver of the other pickup, a 37-year-old male from Kenora Ontario suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police say conditions at the time were icy and believe that played a part in the collision.

The investigation continues.
