The body of an adult male and the remains of a dog were recovered after a fire Saturday morning in the Maples.
Just before 10:30 am firefighters were called to a home on Martell Crescent. The caller told emergency operators that a person was trapped inside the burning home.
Flames were coming out of the basement windows as Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews arrived on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
