Fatal collision claims the life of 22-year-old male near Selkirk.

RCMP are investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian near Selkirk on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.

Investigators say that an SUV was travelling south on Highway 9 when the 52-year-old female driver came across a male standing in the middle of the highway.

The driver was unsuccessful at avoiding a collision with the male. A second vehicle travelling in the opposite direction was also unable to stop in time and also hit the male.

The victim from Opaskwayak Cree Nation was given first aid at the scene and transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police say both drivers stopped after the collision and contacted 911

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the collision say investigators.
