One dead and five others seriously injured in Highway 7 pileup

RCMP are investigating a serious four vehicle collision that claimed the life of a 64-year-old Fisher River Cree Nation man and sent four adults and a child to hospital with serious injuries.

The collision occurred just before 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 17, 2022, on Highway 7 near Highway 323. Police say that a white truck was reported travelling south in the northbound lane of Highway 7 when it collided with another vehicle, which caused a chain reaction can caused two other vehicles to become involved.

Police say the deceased male died at the scene and was in one of the vehicles hit by the white truck. The victims were transported to hospital.

RCMP are continuing the investigation.
