One airlifted to hospital from single-vehicle collision

One person was airlifted to hospital after the vehicle they were driving left the roadway and rolled.

It happened just before midnight on Saturday, June 11, 2022, on the Perimeter Highway just north of Portage Avenue.

It appears that the adult male driver of the vehicle lost control, hit a light standard and travelled several hundred feet down the embankment before rolling over multiple times and landing to face the opposite direction in the west side ditch.

Emergency crews spent more than an hour extricating the victim from the car. The driver was transported to hospital with serious injuries by STARS Air Ambulance.
