One additional case of COVID-19, PCHs to begin indoor visits

Manitoba Public Health announced on Monday, June 22, 2020, that there is one new case of COVID-19 identified in the province. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases is 314.

The latest case is a male in his 40s from the southern health region. He is a truck driver and the case is related to travel to Ontario.

There are no people with the virus in hospital

Currently there are 14 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba 293 people have been listed as recovered.

The death toll from COVID-19 in Manitoba remains at seven.

1,951 laboratory tests were performed between June 19 and June 21 (Friday – 733, Saturday – 850 and Sunday – 368). This brings the total number of tests performed since early February to 58,221. 

Beginning Tuesday June 23, 2020, personal care homes will allow indoor visits. The indoor visits, to be approved by individual PCH care teams, will enable each resident to identify a short list of individuals who may visit during allotted times. 

Outdoor and virtual vists will also continue.

Visits must be scheduled, and visitors will be screened upon arrival for symptoms and history of travel or exposure to COVID-19. Visitors must maintain physical distancing throughout their visit. Individuals will also be requested to bring and wear a non-medical mask for the duration of their time inside the facility.
