Officers with the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report that a man had been stabbed and was walking around in the Central Park area.
Police searched the area and located the 43-year-old victim sitting on the steps of a residence in the 500 block of Young Street. The male was in medical distress. Officers immediately performed emergency first-aid and applied a tourniquet and chest seal.
The male was taken to hospital in stable condition.
When interviewed by police he could not provide many details of the assault. No arrests have been made.
