Winnipeg Police responded to the 200 block of Dorothy Street for a wellbeing check around 10:30 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2022. A call had come in reporting a female was believed to be experiencing meth-induced psychosis.

When officers approached the female she became combative with officers. During her interaction, she assaulted two of the officers. One officer was physically injured and required stitches. They were taken to the hospital, treated and released.

The female was cleared medically at the scene and was monitored at police headquarters while being processed

The female faces two charges of Assault a Peace Officer and was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the criminal code.
