In the mid-morning hours of July 1, 2017 police were responding to a suspicious incident in the 1000 block of King Edward Street.
Witnesses had observed a male on the roof of a business and he was acting in an erratic manner.
Police located the man nearby and saw that the man had injuries to his hands and upper body.
Officers approached the male who became aggressive and combative. He attempted to initiate a fight with officers and a struggle ensued. Officers used a taser on the man in order to be able to take him into custody.
A search of the suspect revealed he had a hidden knife in his clothing.
One officer was injured during the incident but did not require medical help.
A 21-year-old male of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
- Causing a Disturbance
- Resist Peace Officer
- Assault a Peace Officer
- Possession of a Weapon
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
