Winnipeg Police have arrested a 37-year-old male in connection to an attack on an off-duty officer on Wednesday April 7, 2021.
The officer was his way to work when he noticed an altercation between a male and a female in the Millennium Library Park. The male made racial slurs towards the officer then without warning attacked the officer.
While the attack was underway other officers saw the attack from a window in the HQ building and went to the scene to help.
As the suspect was arrested he continued to make racial slurs and threatened to kill the officers.
Michael Ryan Wallbank was charged for his alleged involvement with Assault and two counts of Utter Threats.
He was detained in custody
