Progressive Conservative candidate Obby Khan is the unofficial winner of the Fort Whyte riding by-election on Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
Khan had the most votes as of 11:30 pm with 3,050. Liberal Willard Reaves came in a close second with 2,853 followed by the NDP candidate Trudy Schroeder with 1,112 votes.. Independent Patric Allard received 101 votes and the green party’s Nicolas Geddert with 55.

Fort Whyte was held by former Premier Brian Pallister until he resigned his seat in October 2021.
Throughout the night the vote count was very close flipping from a Tory to a Liberal lead and back again. At one point in the count Reaves and Khan were only separated by one vote.
