Winnipeg Police are investigating a homicide that they originally called a suspicious death in the 500 block of Furby Street.
Police say that they responded to a call around 2:30 am on Wednesday, February 14, 2018.
Officers found an adult male who was deceased when they arrived. Initially, police were tight-lipped about the circumstances of the death but on Thursday confirmed that he had been stabbed in the upper body.
The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Joseph Francois.
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate.
