Man clings to life after being shot in Winnipeg’s North End

Winnipeg Police have a 34-year-old male in custody after they responded to the report of a man who had been shot on Monday January 7, 2019 on Burrows Avenue.

Police say a male victim had been shot and sustained serious injuries to the upper body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition and remains there with life-threatening injuries.

Benny Lance Hansen from Winnipeg was arrested at the scene and charged for his alleged involvement with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon 
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm 
  • Careless Use of a Firearm 
  • Discharge Firearm 
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2 – Possess Firearm

Hansen remains in custody as the investigation continues
