Around 2:15 am Monday, March 27, 2023, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a bungalow on North Drive in Fort Garry.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found flames coming from the structure. Crews immediately set up a defensive attack and fought the fire from the outside until it was safe to transition to an interior attack.
No occupants were in the residence at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
It took just under an hour before the fire was declared under control.
The home sustained damage from smoke, fire and water.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
