The City of Winnipeg announced on Wednesday March 18, 2020, that they will be suspending non-essential in home appointment s and further reducing non-essential services.
Here is how it breaks down.
- Animal Services will only be responding to emergency and stray animal calls
- In-person interior residential and commercial property inspections suspended
- City archives closed to public but can still be accessed online
- City Hall wedding ceremonies suspended effective Saturday March 21st
- Water meter inspections, removals, replacements and on-site meter reading suspended as of March 19th
- Open fire or fireworks permits cannot be done in-person at this time. Permits can be obtained by calling 204-986-8200
- Fire station tours and presentations suspended
- Fire stations will no longer collect book donations for the cancelled Children’s Hospital Book Markets
- Winnipeg Transit suspending in-office and community assessments to determine eligibility or to re-register for Winnipeg Transit Plus.
