No new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Manitoba on Friday, May 15, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases remains at 289.
Three people are currently being treated in hospital for the virus with one patient in intensive care.
The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba remains at Seven.
254 people have recovered from the virus with 28 cases still listed as active.
814 tests for COVID-19 were performed on Thursday, May 14, 2020, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 33,045
Dr Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief provincial health officer reminds people to not travel to cottages or campgrounds if they feel ill. If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 stay home, said Roussin.
Travel from southern Manitoba to any area north of the 53rd parallel is not permitted. This includes going to cottages or campgrounds.
Officials are also advising Manitobans to remain in or close to their home communities and to limit travel to essential trips only.
Testing criteria now includes all symptomatic Manitobans. Anyone showing flu or cold-like symptoms can go to any of the testing sites in the province without an appointment.
Community testing sites will remain open on Saturday and Sunday at all locations but only testing sites at Sargent Tommy Prince Place, Bison Drive drive-thru, Selkirk and Winkler will be open on Victoria Day.
