NO BUYER AFTER FAILED AUCTION OF NEECHI COMMONS

Assiniboine Credit Union will have to resort to traditional techniques in selling the property that houses Neechi Commons on Main Street in Winnipeg.

On Wednesday July 12, 2017 an auction for the property was held but the local credit union received no bids on the building valued at more than $ 3.8 million.

The building has ended up in a sale situation after the current owners were unable to make several mortgage payments.

For their part the operators at Neechi get a bit more time to figure out how to keep the much needed grocery store open in an area that is underserved.

Assiniboine CU has said that they will hire a realtor and try to sell the building that way to recover their investment.
