Manitoba Public Health announced 20 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, August 15, 2020, as of 9:30 am. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases stands at 663.
The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 1.49 per cent.
Three of the new cases are in the Prairie Mountain Health region, Six new cases in the Southern Health region and 11 cases in the Winnipeg Health region.

The cases identified today include:
Prairie Mountain Health Region
- One female in her 30s
- Two males in their 40s
Southern Health Region
- One male under nine
- One female in her 20s
- One male in his 40s
- One female in her 50s
- One male in his 60s
- One female in her 80s
Winnipeg Health Region
- One female under nine
- One female and two males between 10 and 19
- One female and two males in their 20s
- One male and one female in their 30s
- One female in her 40s
- One male in his 60s
Public health says that several of the Winnipeg cases are linked to travel or a close contact of a known case.
There are currently 211 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 443 people listed as recovered.
Nine people are being treated in the hospital of which three are in intensive care.
A ninth death was reported on Saturday, a man in his 80s passed away in the City of Portage la Prairie health district within the Southern Health region. This case was a previously reported case and was connected to a known cluster. He had been being treated in the intensive care unit.
1,791 laboratory tests were completed on Friday. According to Manitoba Public Health the total number of completed tests since early February to 112,283.
