NINE SUSPECTS CHARGED IN DRUG RAID

 

 

Police say extensive investigation lead to drug bust

 

 

 

 

 

Nine people are facing multiple drug related offences after police raided a home in the 2000 block of King Edward Street during the evening of Friday, July 7, 2017.

Officers from the Street Crime Unit and other districts executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant after an extensive investigation into a drug network operating in the city.

The raid netted police a number of items including  7.75 kilos of cocaine worth just under a half million dollars. $6,320 worth of crack cocaine and $1,650 worth of  methamphetamine. Officers also seizes cell phones and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Police have charged three male and for females with, Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
   
One adult male is facing Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
   
Another adult male has been charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.
   
 
All 9 individuals were released on a Promise to Appear.
