WINNIPEG WEATHER

New Year’s Eve at the Forks is the place to be for the whole family

Ringing in the new year is a tradition around the globe and right here at home.

Once again the Forks is the place to be in Winnipeg to say goodbye to 2018 and welcome 2019 and all it has to offer.

Arctic Glacier Winter Park will be open all day but beginning at 5:00 pm there will be even more free stuff to do like horse drawn wagon rides, bannock making and Indigenous storytelling, snow sculpting and ball hockey in the plaza parking lot. Inside the Forks Market, you can visit a photo booth and watch musical performances.

If you are one to call it an early night, or you just have to get the kiddies into bed well before midnight a mini fireworks display is set to go off at 8:00 pm at the Winnipeg sign near the CN Stage.

The main fireworks display launches at midnight at the Forks Historic Port near the Canopy Skating Rink.
