Winnipeg police are warning the public about a dangerous new form of fentanyl circulating in the city. The drug, disguised in colorful and unique shapes resembling cut-out cookies, candles, soaps, or confections, was recently discovered during an ongoing investigation by the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit.
Police released images of the seized fentanyl, highlighting its deceptive appearance. The colourful shapes could easily be mistaken for harmless items, posing a significant risk, especially to children.

The Winnipeg Police Service urges anyone who encounters items resembling these images to exercise extreme caution. Immediately contact the police non-emergency line at 204-986-6222 to report the discovery. In case of a medical crisis, such as a suspected overdose, members of the public are urged to call 911 immediately.

For individuals struggling with addiction or seeking support, resources are available. The Winnipeg Police Service encourages people to contact Street Connections, the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, or the Manitoba Addictions Helpline at 1-855-662-6605. These organizations offer confidential support and treatment options.
The investigation into the source and distribution of this new form of fentanyl is ongoing.
