Winnipeg police have a 24-year-old male in custody who was wanted on a Canada -wide warrant for Attempted Murder.
According to police, they learned that the fugitive would be at the November 7, 2019, funeral of Jamshaid Wahabi who was murdered on November 2, 2019.
After the funeral member of the Tactical Support Unit made a traffic stop on the vehicle the wanted man was in. He was taken into custody.
Rami Hagos, 24 from Winnipeg was arrested on the strength of the warrant along with several other related charges.
A search of the suspect located a .50 calibre desert eagle semi-automatic handgun in his possession.
As officers continued to investigate the weapon they learned that it was registered and executed a search warrant of the owners home on November 8, 2019.
Inside the Marine Drive residence officers found 22 firearms including four .50 calibre desert eagle handguns. One weapon was missing from the collection and police determined it was the one they seized from Hagos.
Police have arrested and charged a 40-year-old male with a number of firearm offences.
He was detained in custody.
