Martin Faruq Luther was arrested on September 26, 2023, for the murder of Lori Gordon and the attempted murder of five others.

Police responded to reports of four males being shot at a residence in the 600 block of Spence Street around 2:00 a.m. on March 7, 2023. Several hours later at approximately 6:00 a.m. two females were shot, one fatally, in the 400 block of Beverley Street. Police determined that the incidents were related.
On April 13, 2023 police arrested a 17-year-old male in connection to the shootings. He was charged with Second Degree Murder and detained in custody.
Luther was located with the help of the RCMP in Hanover and taken into custody. He is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Second Degree Murder, five counts of Attempt to Committ Murder and five counts of Aggravated Assault. He was also wanted on two warrants for fail to Attend Court.
He was detained in custody.
