Shortly after 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday April 9, 2024, officers on patrol in the Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood heard gun shots.
Police located 46-year-old Edison Leslie Erskine suffering from a gunshot wound near Furby Street and Cumberland Avenue. The officers administered emergency medical care until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition but died soon afterwards.
Police believe that the victim and suspect became involved in an argument that resulted in the fatal shooting.
Homicide Unit investigators identified and arrested 32-year-old Jordan Tyler Trachilis later in the day. Trachilis has been charged for his alleged involvement with Second Degree Murder.
The investigation continues.
