Suspect in Peyawary homicide rearrested and charged with first degree murder

Winnipeg police have laid new charges against the Aram Soroush in the murder of  Mustafa Peyawary in August 2017.

Soroush was the fourth suspect arrested in relation to  Peyawary’s killing and was originally charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder.

Soroush had been the subject of a Canada-wide warrant. He was arrested in Vancouver on January 20, 2018

Homicide detectives rearrested Soroush on February 1, 2018, and have now charged him with First Degree Murder.

Three other men have also been previously arrested and charged. Damir Kulic, 27 from Vancouver, B.C, Ahamed Althaaf Ismail, 29 from Edmonton, and Matthew Marjonovic, 29 from Winnipeg are all facing First Degree Murder charges.

The murder came to light after received a call just after 10:00 pm on August 13, 2017.  They were alerted to a possible a possible assault at a home in the 100 block of Killarney Avenue. Officers found 29-year-old Mustafa Peyawary inured and unresponsive. Paramedics confirmed Peyawary had died.

According to police, the victim had signs of massive blunt force trauma to his body. Police say that they believe Peyawary was assaulted over an extended period of time.
