A 37-year-old female driver is facing a number of charges after she was involved in an apparent case of road rage.
Police say that around 10:00 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021, they received a call saying that a driver had rammed their vehicle multiple times and was driving erratically near Pembina Highway and Bairdmore Boulevard.
Shortly afterwards a second caller reported being rammed multiple times by the same suspect vehicle in the Sage Creek area. The vehicle was also seen hitting a light standard and driving through a fenced yard.
Air-1 found the suspect vehicle in the drive-thru of a restaurant and directed patrol units to it. The female driver was arrested and placed in custody.
Investigators say they believe the suspect had driven onto the Perimeter after the incident on Pembina Highway. They say she began to aggressively tailgate a driver, flashing her headlights and slowing down in front of him. A few minutes later the suspect allegedly rammed the victim’s vehicle several times and followed as the victim tried to flee into a nearby parking lot. Once in the lot the suspect continued to ram the victim’s vehicle until she lost control of her vehicle. The victim was then able to get away.
The suspect driver has been charged for her alleged involvement with Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or a Combination of Both, Fail or Refuse to Comply with Demand and Assault with a Weapon.
She was released on an Undertaking.
