Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the First Student Inc. bus depot on St. Mary’s Road south of the Perimeter Highway late Tuesday afternoon, July 9, 2019.
Neighbours tell News 4 that the fire started around 4:30 pm. A News 4 crew was in the area at the time of the blaze and recorded fire crews arriving to the scene at approximately 4:50 pm.
When firefighters arrived they encountered heavy smoke and flames from a number of buses on fire at the rear of the property.
An offensive attack was launched
Fire crews were able to get the blaze under control fairly quickly.
There were no reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire is unknown but is under investigation.
