Four drug traffickers have been arrested and charged in three separate incidents over a 36 hour period this week.
Two of the accused were arrested just after 1:00 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, when officers stopped a stolen vehicle on Pipeline Road at Beauty Avenue.
Police say that 55 pieces of crack cocaine were found on one of the suspects along with $2,000 in cash.
A 22-year-old male and a 23-year old male face charges for Possession, Trafficking, and Proceeds of crime.
Later the same day police came across a male who was riding a bicycle and stopped in the middle of the road on Pembina Highway near Bishop Grandin Blvd. Officers approached and noticed the male had a knife in the waistband of his pants. The male was under several court-ordered conditions, including not permitted to have a weapon.
A search found the man had methamphetamine and packaging materials.
Eli Zachary Lewin, 34 from Winnipeg is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Possess Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply with Probation.
On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, a 36-year-old male was arrested on trafficking charges after police executed search warrants at two residences in the Niakwa area of the city.
Officers found 9.25 ounces of Meth in their search with a street value of more than $25,000. Scales and packaging materials were also found.
Leif Kristjan Olafson from Winnipeg was detained in custody for his alleged involvement.
