Manitoba Public Insurance has appointed an interim president and CEO as it searches for a permanent new leader.
In a media release issued by MPI Board of Directors chair, Ward Keith, it was announced that “Effectively immediately, Mr. Eric Herbelin is no longer employed with Manitoba Public Insurance.”
The interim role has been given to Marnie Kacher who has been with the Crown corporation for the past 12 years. Her most recent position prior to accepting her new responsibilities was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Kelvin Goertzen, minister responsible for MPI said “MPI is an important Crown corporation and I want to thank Marnie Kacher for taking on this new leadership role as it transitions from the former president and CEO. She is well suited to provide leadership to the corporation at this important time.”
Neither the statement from the board of directors nor the statement from Goertzen explains why Herbelin is being replaced.
Kacher’s appointment takes effect immediately. The Board will be undertaking a formal recruitment for a permanent President and CEO.
